NyoFrance's History by Chisei-sensei NyoFrance's History by Chisei-sensei

How Nyo!France grew during the centuries.

Don't mind the lame background, please.

A little historic explanation :

Ist century before J.C. : Roman Gaule, probably daughter of Grandpa Rome and Gaule. She is wearing a roman child's tunic with a gallic necklace.

800 : enthronement of Charlemagne, emperor of the Francs. His empire was split when he died, with France being the occidental Francie. She wears a bliaut (long tunic).

XIIIs century : Saint Louis reign. She is wearing a dress typical of the Middle Ages, with a cross because those were very religious times.

XIVs century : major crisis in France's history : 100 years war, famine, plague. She is dressed as a black plague doctor.

XVIs century : the Renaissance, brought via the Italy's wars, arrive in France under François Ier's reign. She wears a dress with big sleeves.

XVIIs century : during Louis XIV's reign (1643-1715), the France became a major force in Europe. The fashion went into lots of change. She wears a big dress with laces and heavy makeup.

XVIIIs century : the Enlightenment. Apparition of a intellectual movement to promote knowledge, philosophy and science. The fashion was quite the same than the precedent century, a bit less flasy perhaps.

1793 : after the Revolution of 1789, lots of people were guillotinated during a period called “the Terror”. She wears a frock dress, worn by rich ladies in those times.

1810 : when Napoléon Ier's Empire was the biggest. She wears a dress similar to Joséhine's (Napoléon's first wife).

1870 : during the franco-prussian war, the third republic is established after a severe defeat. She wears a big dress with a bustle.

1916 : the WWI. She is dressed as a war nurse.

1943 : after the battle of France, some people engaged in the Résistance. Here you can see France holding copies of Libération, one of the Résistance's illegal newspaper.

2014 : nowadays.

Wich one is your favourite ?

WWI and WWII France are my favorites, I think-- I'm especially liking the idea that she was active in the Résistance. (:

This is great! I actually had a similar idea that I started a while ago. But I started with nyo!America instead of nyo!France. ;P
Yours has more years though. (And I would totally wear 2014's stockings)

How cool! The one thing I would comment on was that unless she was 100% spoiled rotten by the emperor, I don't think she'd be wearing purple as it was the color of royalty. Dies also cost a lot of money, so it might be safer to put her in a white tunic. I actually didn't know it was supposed to be a tunic until you mentioned it below. ^^; Sorry if I'm spamming you. This is a great timeline of the history of France!

Well, you are probably right, I didn't look up for the colors, and for the tunic, I just traduced the french "tunique", but perhaps that's not the word used in english, I have no idea.

Oh no, I think the tunic part is right, I just wasn't used to seeing as you drew it; but it's okay. That part's me, haha. ^^
