How France grew during the centuries.

A little historic explanation :
Ist century before J.C. : Roman Gaule, probably son of Grandpa Rome and Gaule. He is wearing a roman child's tunic with gallic bracelets.
800 : enthronement of Charlemagne, emperor of the Francs. His empire was split when he died, with France being the occidental Francie. He wears a bliaut (long tunic).
XIIIs century : Saint Louis' crusades to reclaim Jerusalem. He is wearing a crusader's armor.
XIVs century : major crisis in France's history : 100 years war, famine, plague. He wears typical clothes from this period.
XVIs century : the Renaissance, brought via the Italy's wars, arrive in France under François Ier's reign. He wears a doublet and a ruff.
XVIIs century : during Louis XIV's reign (1643-1715), the France became a major force in Europe. The fashion went into lots of change. He wears an overcoat, stockings, red heeled shoes and a lot of lace.
XVIIIs century : the Enlightenment. Apparition of a intellectual movement to promote knowledge, philosophy and science. The fashion was quite the same than the precedent century, a bit less flasy perhaps.
1793 : after the Revolution of 1789, lots of people were guillotinated during a period called “the Terror”. He wears plain clothes with a sling stollen from a soldier.
1810 : when Napoléon Ier's Empire was the biggest. He wears a high-ranking soldier's uniform.
1870 : during the franco-prussian war, the third republic is established after a severe defeat.
1916 : the WWI. He wears a normal soldier's uniform.
1943 : after the battle of France, some people engaged in the Résistance. Here you can see France holding copies of Libération, one of the Résistance's illegal newspaper.
2014 : nowadays.
